Our story
Waste2Taste started when our founder, Sid Sharma, saw how much good food Houston’s grocery stores had to throw away: produce near its sell-by date, about to spoil, or simply overstocked. The food was still good; what was missing was the step in between. That’s what we built: we rescue food before it’s wasted and get it to people who need it.
Sid has always loved to bake, and bakers learn this early: overripe bananas become banana bread, not garbage. That resourcefulness runs through everything we cook. Today Waste2Taste is a student-founded 501(c)(3) with branches across America.
